The lowdown: Only one season of 'The Persuaders' was made, with 24 episodes in total. It was broadcast on ITV1 from
September 1971 to February 1972, and starred Roger Moore as Lord Brett Sinclair and Tony Curtis as Danny Wilde. They
are both wealthy playboys, who work with Judge Fulton to investigate crimes that the police have not been able to solve.
Their adventures take them all over the world, and feature a mix of action, drama and humour. Very much in the style of
'The Avengers' but without such a cult following. Unfortunately, 'The Persuaders' has not really stood the test of time very
well, and looks rather dated now, although fans of the genre will still enjoy it, and it is interesting to see Roger Moore before
he was James Bond.

'To the Death, Baby' was the 23rd episode of the series, and first aired on 18 February 1972. It featured Roger Delgado in
a brief cameo as Estaban, a professional gambler who has won a lot of money in a poker game with Wilde. Sinclair in turn
plays poker with Estaban in order to win back the money. Delgado only appears in the episode for a few minutes, but he
shows what a great actor he was. The main plot of the episode involves a rich young woman named Shelley Masterson, who
is being courted by a conman, who only wants to marry her for her money. However, Shelley herself is not what she seems.

Trivia: Patrick Troughton also appeared in 'The Persuaders', in an episode called 'The Old, the New and the Deadly'.
