The lowdown: The eleventh film of the long-running series, 'Carry on Cowboy' is set in the Wild West. Dodge City needs
a new marshal, and a sanitary engineer named Marshal P. Knutt ends up going there due to a case of mistaken identity,
vowing to clean up the town - but Dodge City needs cleaning up in an entirely different way! Marshal P. Knutt takes on the
Rumpo Kidd and his gang of outlaws, all the while falling for Annie Oakley, the daughter of Sheriff Albert Earp, who was
murdered by the Rumpo Kidd. Oakley herself has come to Dodge City to get revenge for the death of her father.

Jon Pertwee plays Sheriff Albert Earp, in one of the brief but marvellous cameos that typified his appearances in the
'Carry On' films. His portrayal of the deaf and short-sighted sheriff is one of the highlights of this film, and it is so good in
fact that it is hard to recognise him as Jon Pertwee on first viewing! (Although Doctor Who fans will recognise something
of the character in Jon's performance as the milk truck driver in 'The Green Death'.)

The verdict: Another good outing from the 'Carry On' team, although perhaps not as enjoyable as some of the earlier films.
If you like western spoofs such as 'Blazing Saddles' this is definitely worth watching, if only for the British take on the Wild
West. A highlight is Charles Hawtrey as the most unlikely Indian chief, Big Heap, while fans of Doctor Who should definitely
watch this film to see Jon Pertwee display his comic talents to perfection. It is just too bad that his character gets killed off
in the first half hour!
